About

Erinsphere [eer-in s-feer] noun. 1. (a surrounding or pervading good mood, uplifting environment, or influence of infectious love energy).

Weaving all aspects of a small band into a seamless live solo performance, Erinsphere is the loopy brainchild of NZ-born musician Erin, who has been touring the Australasian coastlines for the best part of five years honing her craft and live show.

Progressive, upbeat folk, where dubby, reggae basslines combine with beatboxing and impeccable, synth-style vocal harmonies, Erin's sound and rhythmic groove is inspired by the heavyweights in catchy, conscious music. Using techniques comparable to those of contemporary legends Tash Sultana and Ed Sheeran, the ‘Erinsphere' is essentially about creating something that uplifts and inspires, in a similar way to John Lennon’s “Imagine” or Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World”; layered right in front of your eyes. But you might want to wear your dancing shoes.

After forming the high-energy Dub Cymatics and touring in early 2018 with the band, Erin has incorporated some aspects of the show into her solo set, accentuating choruses and laying background beats with the help of drum samplers, brass, clarinet and keys.

With a unique vocal style that has been compared to Tracy Chapman, Ani DiFranco, Selah Sue and Alanis Morissette, lyrics that hit right at the heart of the matter like a cross between Xavier Rudd and Blue King Brown are a delight for listeners who appreciate the craft of songwriting and storytelling.

Based in the Deep South, Erin travels the length and breadth of New Zealand, and has toured the East Coast of Australia multiple times. She took to the stage in 2017 at epic festivals throughout Australia including North Byron’s Splendour in the Grass, Island Vibes, Island Elements, Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, and more.
